Hi there and welcome to Shirley and Eadie! Named after both of my sweet and strong grandmothers, I created this space  to share my love of fiber arts, good home cooking, and southern traditions which were sparked in me as a child by those two lovely ladies mentioned above.

My name is Ashlyn, and I am so humbled you are wondering a bit about me. I studied renewable natural resources in college and currently work as an environmental scientist in my home state of Louisiana. I learned to crochet as a teenager from my grandmothers, and fiber art has become a big part of my life, too. I love dabbling in every fiber art imaginable, but crochet will always be my first and foremost favorite! I do a little crochet design work and have been lucky enough to have a few of my pieces published with some lovely companies. I live with my most favorite person (my dear husband) and our two pups in a little blue 1920s farmhouse where you can often find me in my kitchen, garden, or on the porch with a fiber project and iced coffee in hand. I have a few modest dreams of turning some of our land into a small flower farm, our kitchen into a small bakery, and growing our small family with tiny versions of my most favorite person. Maybe even adding a few more animals, some chickens, goats, and an alpaca or two!

Thank you for stopping by and reading a little part of my story. I hope this space inspires you and brings a little joy and peace to your day.
